How we rank
The listing marked Best is the cheapest one you can actually pay for right now, after fees. Nobody can pay to change that.
1. Only listings we trust can be Best
- Recently checked. Every price keeps the time it was last checked. Marketplace feeds count as fresh for 15–30 minutes and Steam for 90 minutes. Older prices are greyed out, and prices older than 6 hours (24 for Steam) are hidden.
- In stock and tradable now. Listings that are only available trade-locked are shown but can't be Best.
- Plausible. A listing priced below half of the median of the other sites is flagged "far below other sites". These are usually stale listings that have already sold.
2. Ranked by what you actually pay
For each marketplace we start from its shown price and apply, in order:
- the top-up bonus, if the site adds bonus credit to deposits (you can turn this off; bonus balance can't be withdrawn)
- any buyer fee
- the payment-method fee for card, PayPal or crypto
- currency conversion, for card and PayPal when the site charges in a different currency from yours (2% by default; set your own)
With Pay with: All, each marketplace is priced with the cheapest method it accepts, and the table shows which one that is next to the cost for every method. Open Details on any row to see each step. Sending crypto also costs a network (blockchain or exchange withdrawal) fee once per top-up; it depends on the coin and network, so it's a setting: $1 by default, roughly a stablecoin on a cheap network.
Buying several skins
The basket finds the cheapest way to buy several skins together. Items bought on the same marketplace share one top-up, so a flat deposit fee or a minimum top-up is paid once per site. The basket also counts money left on a site by a minimum top-up as spent (you can turn that off), and shows the cheapest single site if you'd rather use one account.
3. Where the fees come from
Every fee was checked against each marketplace's own fee pages, help centre, site configuration or API (last on the date in the page footer). Each payment method's fee carries one of these labels, shown under Details with a link to its source:
- Stated by the marketplace on its own fee or help page, or read from its own site configuration.
- Third-party estimate: the marketplace doesn't publish it, so a figure from review sites is used and the row says "third-party estimate".
- Shown only after login: the marketplace shows the fee only inside an account, so it's assumed to be 0% and the row says "fee not published". That can flatter the site, which is why it's always labelled.
Each marketplace also gets an overall confidence: high when every fee is confirmed by the marketplace, medium when most are, and low when several aren't. Fees that need a logged-in check are listed in the project's fee checklist and get confirmed by hand.
4. Referral links
Some Buy links are referral links. If you sign up through them, the marketplace may pay this site a small commission. They are labelled "referral", and they never change the order: a marketplace without a referral deal is ranked exactly the same way.
5. Where the prices come from
Public price feeds from Steam, CS.TRADE, Waxpeer, Rust.tm, LIS-SKINS, Loot.Farm and Skinport, plus CS.Deals and DMarket through their official APIs. Marketplaces that offer no feed, and whose terms or robots.txt rule out automated collection, aren't shown. The data status page shows how fresh each feed is right now.
